The Scriptures
We
believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and
the inerrant Word of God and that all Scripture was designed for our
practical instruction and encouragement (Romans 15:4; I Corinthians
10:11; II Timothy 3: 15-17; II Peter 1:21).
The Triune Godhead
We believe there is only one God, Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30).
God the Father - God, as Father, is ruler and authority over all of His universe.
He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-wise and all-loving (Genesis 1:1; I Chronicles
29:10; Jeremiah 10:10; Matthew 6:9; Acts 1:7; I Corinthians 8:6; 1 Corinthians
15:4; Ephesians 4:6).
God the Son - We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth
(Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1: 34-35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; 7:26);
His miracles (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3;
Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25; I Corinthians 15:4);
His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); His personal return to
earth in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-13; Revelation 19:14-16).
God the Holy Spirit - We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin
and brings new life to those who are spiritually dead. The Holy Spirit
baptizes believers into the Body of Christ and indwells them permanently. The
Holy Spirit bestows spiritual gifts upon believers and fills those who are yielded
to Him. Every believer is called to live in the power of the indwelling Holy
Spirit so as not to fulfill the lust of the flesh, but will bear fruit to the glory of God
(John 3:3-8; 14:16-17; 16:7-11; I Corinthians 12:7-11, 13; Ephesians 3:30; 5:18).
Salvation
We
believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit
for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of the human nature,
that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood
of Christ, and that only by God's grace through faith are we saved
(John 1:12; John 3:16-19; John 5:24; Acts 16:30-33; Romans 3:23; Romans
5:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 1:7; 2: 8-10; Titus 3:5).
Christian Walk
We
believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling
the Christian is enabled to live a holy and godly life until the return
of Christ (Romans 8:9; 8:13-14; I Corinthians 3:16; I Corinthians
6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30; Ephesians 5:18; II Peter 3: 11-12).
The Church
We
believe in the spiritual unity of the believers in our Lord Jesus
Christ and as Christians we are to be examples of God's (agape) love in
this world. Jesus Christ is the head of the Church. We as a body of
believers make up the body of Christ and are the visible representation
of the Lord in a lost and needy world. It is our duty as believers to
minister in the name of Jesus Christ and so fulfill the Great
Commission (Matthew 25:31-46; 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; 2:42; I
Corinthians; 2:12-13; Galatians 3:26-29; Ephesians 1:22-23; 5:23; I
John 4:16-17).
